Crewel Heart is a Goldwork and Crewelwork Embroidery kit suitable for stitchers with some experience.

This embroidery kit's heart design was inspired by the ceiling moldings in the Tribune Room in Strawberry Hill House, Horace Walpole's former home in South West London.

The kit is designed to provide an exploration of shading, through thread colour and stitch density as well as introducing Crewelwork and Goldwork Stitches. The stitches covered are: Trellis Stitch, Brick Stitch, Closed Fly Stitch, Open Fly Stitch, Van Dyke Stitch, French Knots, Goldwork Couching, and an optional addition of Chipping and Cutwork.

Full skeins of Appletons Crewel Wool of the whole Dusky Terracotta shade family are included so that you can explore shading further outside of the kit.

The kit also includes a square of Irish linen with the printed design, all the needles you will require and a needle threader, Gilt Smooth Passing Bright Check Purl, Gutermann Sew-All thread, beeswax and a miniature velvet board.

To complete the kit you will also require an 8" embroidery hoop and embroidery scissors.

The finished kit fits perfectly into an 8" hoop, hoop mounting kits are available.
